The Eye Of The Beholder
THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER

I will come to you, my love,
To your warm and sunlit cabin.
Before evening shadows fall,
And the clear light slowly fades,
I will lean against your shoulder
As we share past tender memories
Of our bitter sweet affair
In those far off reckless days.

I can see you have recaptured
A familiar sweeping seascape
I can taste fresh salty air.
••
Feel the sand beneath my feet.
I can smell again the heather
On those distant purple mountains
Hope that we'll still be together
When this canvas is complete.

Come and kiss me now, my love,
Let us ride the crest together
With the swift and surging waves
'til our urgency subsides.
In the harbour of your arms
I am safely home at last,
Let your masterpiece reflect this
As you place us side by side.
